We want to know what YOU want!

District 34 families, please take our brief survey to share your opinions on PTO. Tell us what you would like, what you don't like, and what kinds of events you would like to see PTO sponsor.  Your input will be reviewed at the March 11 PTO meeting (open to all) and help us plan for next year.  The survey is anonymous and we greatly appreciate your feedback.

Volunteers Needed

Volunteers are needed for two important initiatives at the school.

The school staff are looking for parents to partner with them on a few school improvement projects.  This is what PTO is all about - parents and staff collaborating to make an impact on our school community and enhance the environment for our teachers and students.  I hope you will take advantage of these great opportunities and get involved!

Use our Signup Genius site to volunteer:

Here's what the school is looking for:

1.  "Safe Routes to School" project - 1-2 parents to serve as "parent representatives"  and provide input in a planning meeting on Tuesday 2/18.  During this meeting, the Wellness Committee will brainstorm what is feasible and within budget for this year.  Parent participation and volunteers will be critical to the program's success.  Ideally one of these parents (or both) would remain involved in future planning and volunteer coordination efforts.  More info is at:
(National) http://www.saferoutesinfo.org/
(Illinois)  http://www.saferoutespartnership.org/state/srts-in-your-state/illinois

2. Wellness Committee members - 1-2 additional parents to join the Wellness Committee.  They meet 4-5 times a year and look globally at our wellness initiatives each year, and brainstorm new projects.  This year the focus is to complete the Safe Routes to School project.

Trivia Night Success!

District 34 PTO's Trivia Night 2014 was a huge success!

Thanks to all who helped with, attended, and donated to the event.  It took the collaboration of all those within our community to make it possible.  Congratulations to the members of the Wheaton Newcomers Club, our trivia champions of the evening! They earned their bragging rights... A special thank you to the Winfield School staff who helped with planning, event decorations, donated prizes, and came out to make the evening that much more special.
